Eastbourne spaces 3rd September 05

I have been asked to post this by Dave Wood from our club:

Chris
Could you please advertise the dive on YD, we have several places left at the
moment.

We will be diving the SS Alaunia, Cunard Liner, the biggest wreck on the
Sussex coast. Followed by the Gun Wreck, true name unknown but the wreck is
dominated by a large gun on the stern, hence the local name. The five day weather
forecast is looking good. The dive boat is "Our W" an offshore 125 with
diver lift and compressor onboard see
http://home.btclick.com/screenhouseg...e125/index.htm Directions are under "DIVING" then "EASTBOURNE".
The Alaunia will be about 38mtr to the bed but 12mtr proud, the Gun Wreck
is around 30mtr and 6mtr proud. Leave time is 9:15 from Sovereign Harbour
Eastbourne. Cost is £38. Dave Wood Contact scubawoody@aol.com or mobile 07967 678024.

the 'Gun Wreck is probably the Umba as the 'Umba' in Dive Sussex is definitely the Roecliffe

Pretty sure that I agree with you about 'The Gun' actually being the Umba but what makes you so sure about the Roecliff being the wreck that most people know as the Umba ?
