| Portland 8th Oct (This Saturday) I have need to give up my space on our club visit to Portland this Saturday due to finances.
This dive is for just qualified in the water really..
So here are the details..
Here are the details for Portland Saturday 8 October
For the first trip out the boat will leave 10am. Because the trip to the
dive site is very short and the boat is quite small we usually set up the
kit and put on dry/wet suits etc in the car park and then carry it aboard
ready to dive.
The boat will return to shore after the first dive. Currently no other
groups are using the boat on Saturday so we MAY be able to leave our kit on
the boat. The second trip will leave around 14:00. As the dive sites are
close to shore each trip will take around 2 hours.
The attached map shows the general area. The boats leave from a small dock
behind a small car park at Castletown.
Parking can be difficult in the car park as it is so small. If necessary
you can unload here and then move the car to another car park further away.
You will need to bring all your own kit. You will, however, only need one
cylinder as the boat will return to shore between dives. There is a dive
shop for cylinder refills and a café for people refills right by the car
park. I am not sure if nitrox is available but as the diving is shallow I
will not be bothering with it.
Also you must have at least 1 reel and DSMB between you and your buddy!
The trip is intended for divers new to UK sea diving - thus the planned dive
sites are The Landing Craft followed by an easy depth drift dive along the
harbour wall. Planned depths are around 15m or so.
Payment of £30.00 Max for each diver will be required on the day.
If you want this space let me know and ill pass on yoru details to the organiser.
Regards,
Chris
