| Okay, here we go. Samkajo and I went to Cape on Friday just gone, and spent two dives experimenting, and perfecting as much as we could, the game which has up until now been referred to as hula hoop football....after much thought and deliberation - it has been Christened: SKEWBALL..... So named because 1) everyone things we're nuts 2) The ball which we will play the game with it counterweighted with lead shot, so if you throw it too hard it 'skews' off course. 3) It sounds like Scuball = scubaball 4) And this is the best...it sounds like skewbald, the colour of a horse, hence, we have coloured in the ball aka a skewbald horse, and have thus brought into existance....The Skewball. So: We now have a pitch, goals, a beautiful ball, rules, tags basically everything we need. The game is to be non contact, and all the rules have been thought about with safety as a top priority....so, now all we need to do is try it out.... We've put aside two days - the 20th and 21st October, a Thursday and a Friday to practice the game. The first bit will be a detailed briefing about the rules of the game, and safety. Then we'll aim to do a dive to get used to the pitch, the goals, and how the ball moves under the water, as well as thinking about team play etc. I'll be looking for all ideas, and feedback - because this really is a game in progress, so how players find the game etc is going to be really interesting. Then, we'll play Skewball. I am going to speak to the people at Cape tomorrow, and just make sure that they're happy for us to use them - bearing in mind that if we ever got to a point where we could hold a tournament, or really a DiFF olympics, then maybe we could do it there.... Anyway - I'm getting ahead of myself again. We have three definites for the 20th and 21st. Please add to the thread below if you would like to volunteer yourself for a couple of days of cool stuff. We need a minimum of 8 people to have enough to play - 3 aside, and two marshalls. And here begins the birth of Skewball......

| This idea sounds great fun, pity I can't get any time off this week, it would have been fun to observe the manic goings on under the surface |
