Dive from Falmouth

Hi all,

Fancy giving us a go???

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are a dive charter company based in Falmouth, Cornwall.

We operate a hard boat called ‘Redeemer’ it has a wide lift installed, central heated wheelhouse and large open aft deck. The vessel travels at a speed of 15 knots fully loaded with 12 divers including all their kit, we can get to the legendary Manacles in 25 minutes, which is much quicker than by road where it would take you an extra hour and ten minutes from Falmouth in a car. Going out of Falmouth on ‘Redeemer’ removes all the hassle of launching ribs which gives you more of a relaxing dive.

Diving from Falmouth is stress free. When the day is over we offer a service of recharging all your cylinders, air and nitrox, so all you do is step of the boat and get ready to enjoy the evening. Falmouth has an abundance of hotels, B&B’S and camp sites to suit all tastes, it also has a vibrant night life to go with it.

We also operate on a regular basis out of Penzance and Plymouth, should you prefer to dive the wreck these areas have to offer.

We offer weekends, long weekends and full weeks, wrecks from 7 meters up to 90 meters, reef’s that start at 5 meters and with some dramatic drops and gullies to 50 meters something for everyone. Tell us what you fancy and will see if we can accommodate, please visit our web site for a closer look at our vessel the MV ‘Redeemer’ www.baymarine.co.uk

I'm looking at sorting a couple of trips to Porthkerris next year - one earlier in the year and one in August. For the earlier one I'm looking at May on either the 6th/7th or 13th/14th.

My preference would be for the latter weekend but I'm open to persuasion

As always, diving would be from the Celtic Cat

on the Saturday and Sunday. Speaking with Porthkerris, they're planning on having a proper kitting up bench in place by then, and hopefully a lift as well - although neither of these are guaranteed at this stage.

Costs will be £40 per day for the diving which includes 2 dives and lunch on board - please note these are the current prices (checked on 19/10/05 and they're planning on these being the 2006 prices) but as we're all aware with current fuel prices its possible that Porthkerris might have to come up with a surcharge. There is plenty of accommodation available, from camping through to B&B & Guest Houses - this can be arranged through Porthkerris themselves or I know there have been a few recommendations for alternatives on previous threads.

We don't really plan these as deep techy weekends - most of the diving is in the 20-30m range, although we did hit 33m on one of the dives on the last trip.

Porthkerris have air and nitrox available on site upto 300 BAR (and always seem to do good fills). Please bear in mind that there's no onboard compressor so you'll either need twins or 2 cylinders.

As always, we'll probably be down on the Friday for some shore diving (depending on date) - if anyone wanted to do some boat dives on the Friday, Porthkerris will run their RIB with a minimum of 4 people.

If you're interested let me know along with which date would interest you most - I'll need to get a 50% deposit to secure spaces, the rest will be payable 6 weeks beforehand.

Had a word with Porthkerris last night and they mentioned that we'd only have 10 spaces available for this trip - so it looks like Saturday is full, but if anyone is free on the Sunday there's still a couple of spaces free...
