TGIF........ the Friday Club - 18th November

As instructed by Divegyrl ( ) on this thread: http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/fo...ad.php?t=27678 , this is the thread for 18th November.

Diving off Nauticat ( http://www.channeldiving.com/home.phtml ) from Brighton Marina. The plan is to do a 30mish wreck + drift, with the exact site to be decided on the day based on local conditions and peoples' preferences. Ropes off will be about 10am (confirm the exact time with the skipper when you ring him for a weather check the day before the dive).

If you want to come along, you'll need to contact the skipper Steve Johnson to ask for a space:

Tel/Fax: 01273 301142
Boat direct: 07970 674799
E-mail: steve@channeldiving.com

Just posting on this thread (or any other) will not get you a space on the boat - you need to book yourself on with Steve. If you drop out, you're responsible for paying for your space or sorting out a replacement - this is just a collection of individuals booking on a boat, not an 'organised' trip.

I believe the cost is about £35 per head, payable on the day, though confirm that with Steve when you book.

We need 8 people to go out - if you book on, please update this list so we know who's coming out to play.

Booked on so far:

1. Tom
2. Ian@1904
3. KimH
4. ????

I'll let you know about me and Al tomorrow Tom - we are trying to get on a dive out of Plymouth but, if not, would love to come out to play again.

Only thing is, stick in the muds that we are we would need to know whether you are planning shallower than 30 or deeper than 30 before the day. That's why I called Steve - who said no problem either way - you choose

So over to you...

Yep, understood. I had thought of leaving this a little flexible (I'll personally have a fill of 32% so I'd be happy diving anything down to the MOD for that). I guess you're thinking about whether to use nitrox or trimix?

What I said in my last email to Steve was:

Quote:
I thought we might take your advice on the best place to dive on the day, depending on the conditions. We're looking for something around 30m (max would be 35 to the seabed, but preferably a little shallower). I'd thought about something like the Fortuna or Ikeda
Given that it's a high water slack (I think) I suspect we'll end up on something slightly deeper than 30 to the seabed. However, if cost/choice of fills etc is an issue and anyone wants to keep it shallower than 30, then that's no problem at all. I'm happy with anything that fills the boat up!

Did that help? What depth range would you and Al like to do? (and no, we're not going to the Moldavia before you ask )

I'll be on 32% as well and with the anticipated weather that time of year would say Tom's plan is very sound

Sounds good to me, and I'll aim for 32% as well.

And we have got a dive on the Medoc so will not be able to join you this time. Next time I hope...

So fingers crossed for you weather wise and we'll leave some choccy after the outing on the 11th to welcome you to the boat.

- EDIT - thinking about it - the chance of any chocolate being left after Howard and I leave the boat is about zero. Sorry
