Instead of loads of emails pinging around I have decided to book my flight and have just confirmed it (well paid anyway) with KLM.

I provisionally booked it yesterday and needed to wait until the sports package had been confirmed, apparently I should receive an e-ticket tomorrow.

I am traveling on Friday 28th September to Quito and returning from Lima on 18th October.

When you decide to book don't forget to wait for confirmation of the sports package before paying.

What's wrong with e-mails, Fiona? Surely it's better to send a joint e-mail to the members of the group going on the trip than post information like this, which cannot possibly be of any interest to people outside the group, on these boards? No offence intended, just my thoughts.

Oh dear - well, seeing as none of this thread is, or will ever be, of interest to anyone outside of the trip we may as well give up now!

Actually, it does stop comment after comment into inboxes that may not get checked all that often.

Which reminds me, I must get everyone to take my work e-mail off the circulation before I leave!

I like seeing this thread on the YD boards - it makes me happy that I have something to look forward to ... even though it is still so far away

I like to read about other trips that are going on even if I am not part of the trip. It gives me ideas of what else is out there and things that need to be concidered for the trip which could actually be applied to any trip

Nothing at all about making other people envious and rubbing their faces in it becasue I'm going to the Galapagos and they're not!

I wonder how many bottles of WKD I can get into my dive bag without going over the alowance?

Venus

You believe people going on the trip check in on this thread more often than their e-mail? I don't!

No, but it stops my e-mail account getting clogged up.

The point was that posting here, only one copy of any message exists. On e-mail, by the time it has gone out to all, back and forth between a few and then forwarded on to others it all gets a bit messy.

Does it really matter a jot either way, anyway?
