Not really that long off, we have to pay in July then it will be really close.

I still haven't decided where to spend the first day and a bit in Quito before the dive trip, Cotopaxi is an option as is the market at Otavalo on the Sunday, I know the main tourist market is Saturday but they have one everyday, there is also a cable car ride which looks good. So anyone else have anything in mind, obviously we don't need to do anything as a group.

Anyway while we are in excited mode, I was checking out my Machu Picchu hotel yesterday and I am now really looking forward to spending the night in this beautiful location, even if I am doing it the easy way

The market in Otovalo is pretty good. Just bear in mind that in September it will be pretty chilly up there - I was there this time last year and missed a nice big sweater. There is a really nice hotel to stay in up in Otovalo or have dinner in - I will have a look and see if I can pull out the info (though you may need to get back to Quito ready to go to the Galapagos).

Cotopaxi is well worth a visit or, if you are tired and don't fancy being too adventurous, there are plenty of markets in Quito over the weekend and a visit to the old town is worth it too.

I quite fancy the market then. Nothing too strenuos

Mind you. I fancy Cotopaxi and the cable car too.
