Plymouth - Jan 21st/22nd

Been having a chat with Brian of Aquanauts, and sounds like they've got some good conditions down there at the min - he mentioned 10m+ vis

Now obviously that could change dependent on the weather, but I thought I'd risk it and head down for the weekend of the 21st/22nd and get a few early dives in. Probably looking at nothing deeper than 30m ish, preferably big rusty lumps but open to persuasion on that front.

Boat costs are £35 per day, dropping to £30 if we can get 7 or more. So, anyone interested?

BTW, we'd be using one of Brian's boats - can't confirm which at the min, but I've PM'd Brian for likely candidates.

OK,
Brian's confirmed that boat-wise it'll be either

Aquanaut or

Venture

both of which have lifts.

Apparently a few YD'ers were down there yesterday and had cracking dives - 20m vis on Hands Deep and 10m on the Scylla.

I'm happy to do the Scylla on one of the days - probably do the JEL the same day if everyone's happy with that.

As for accommodation, I'm probably going to use the Cranbourne - about 5-10 mins walk from Aquanauts and the boat. They're online @ http://www.cranbournehotel.co.uk/
and we've stayed there before. Fairly important for Plymouth is that they've got free parking for during the day. They also have a bar

Other than that, have a look on the aquanauts website as they have a few places listed.

Cheers,
Simon

Question

Simon,

Sounds interesting. Would be nice to have a few easy dives with the girlfriend to start the year.

We need to be back in Kent by 18:00 on the Sunday - any idea what the 'back to port' time will be?

Mark
