It depends on the weatehr, but all are "on offer".

If we have 10 days or so of good weatehr before the trip then we can try for the U90, if not then the other two subs are cose together and we can choose. Terry H's recommendation would be for 81 over 1195, and he has dived them both extensively.

I have dived 1195 and it is a good dive. Both sit on shaley bottoms so viz is likely to be about the same on either.

I would suggest we hold out in the vain hope of getting to U90, but go for 81 as a backup. If all esle fails there are other non-sub wrecks that we should be able to get if it is too bad for subs, but not entirely blown out.

Whoaa there Lou,

While I'd pick the 81 over the 1195 as a dive, the 81 lies almost as far out if
not slightly more than the 90.

So closest to the pickup would be the 1195, then not much between
the 81 & the 90 (although the 90 is closer to the IOW).

As for alternates I'd head for shelter and look at the Polo if you want some
depth at 27m, if that looks iffy you can hide on the Luis (17m) in Sandown
bay.

Best bet that's sheltered and not so far from port would IMO be the
Camswan (19m).

So I'd plan for the U90, but as you almost go over the Camswan on the way
use this as your No1 bailout. If that's a no go another 10 minutes in the
same direction and you'd be on your No2 bailout the Luis.

HTH

Oooh, the guy in the shop told me that the 81 and the 1195 were close together and so it didn't matter betweent hem. that is where i got that bit from, and hence put it togheter with your advice of 81 over 1195 as a dive. Hmmm.

Oh well. At the end of the day it all depends what the weather gods have been playing at in the run up so we shall see nearer the time

Cheers

Lou

Go

http://users.pandora.be/tree/wreck/w...recksite.html#

Click on marine charts

Stick U90 in the search box and click on the details below as they come up

Zoom out a little, hey presto all the subs.

Click over the names and you get some detail.

The U90 stuff is wrong though.
