| Weymouth 20&21 May 2006 I have made a provisional booking for the dates shown above. http://www.scimitardiving.co.uk/page2.html This is a brand spanking new boat, still under construction and going for sea trials in a few weeks. Click on the link and you can find out more. Toilet, shower, and LIFT I have extracted some of the email correspondence, although I have spoken with Smudge, one of the skippers. Expected cruising speed will be between 18-20 knots. We are having a hum dinger of engine fitted, a cummings 500hp which is slightly more powerfull than the norm but think it will be worth it. To give you some idea, from weymouth to say somewhere like the M2 should take no more than about 30-40 mins depending on conditions and Aeolian sky about 15-20 mins. Portland Harbour no more than 15 Min. Hot Tea/Coffee/Chocolate when you want it. We will always crew with 2 so we have an extra pair of hands to assist with customers etc and also Coke and other soft drinks available from the cool box which you can pay at the end of the day. Hot drinks and water is free. The lunch will be something like pasties but Helena is currently thinking on that one at the moment. Personally I can burn water so will let Helena answer that one later! The charter rate is £400 per day. Usually that will include a deep dive with a shallower dive after lunch/surface interval but if you also want to do a night dive thats also fine and is no extra cost. Soup will also be provided free of charge for night dives. Gas fills are available from old harbour divers which is about a five minute walk The dive plans are not set in stone, but I propose something like: Sat 20 May UB-74 10:57 followed later by something in Portland harbour. or a night dive in the harbour Sun 21 May Aeolian Sky or A3 at approx 1100 followed by Black Hawk bow section finishing with a gentle easterly drift. Giving approximately 1 hr travel and shoting time will give you a nice sociable start time on both days Tides are neapish and you can have a lie in on both days. If I receive enough interest I will reserve the boat proper, and be asking for deposits of £40 each. |
