Weymouth 20 & 21 May - Replacement to the Scimitar Change

Following the change of dates from Scimitar diving on the other thread and the fact that at least five couldn't make it, I have just spoken to Divers Down (Swanage) and they have a spare boat on the 20th and 21st, so we now have an alternative plan which will sail from Swanage and not Weymouth.

20th May - Ropes off approx 09:40, Kyarra, 2nd dive drift.

1. GLOC
2. Rob Dobson
3. Wilbo
4. Neil Ellis
5. MJH (Marianne)
6. MJH's Mate!

21st May - Ropes off approx 11:00, Aoelian Sky, 2nd dive drift. Note needs six to sail.

1. GLOC
2. Rob Dobson
3. Wilbo
4. Neil Ellis
5. MJH (Marianne)
6. MJH's Mate!

Contact Divers Down at Swanage (http://www.diversdownswanage.co.uk/) to book your place. The boat is booked under Gareth Lock.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Gloc,

I could still be interested in this, can I just ask though, why the Aeolian sky? In my opinion it is one of the poorer dives in the area.

There are dozens of better dives along this coast shallower than 35M. If you are willing to go to 45M the choiceis limitless.

The reason why we have limited it to 35m is because this will be the second or third sea dive of the season, we are not trimix qualified and therefore want to remember what we see.

Regarding the Sky, none of the original 4 in the list have dived the wreck (or rather made it onto the wreck due to the skipper's ineptitude!), and it was also recommended by Mike Marsh from Divers Down in Swanage. If you have a better suggestion within the same distance from Swanage, I would be very grateful if you could let us know. We have the potential for another dive on the 10th June which we are looking for a destination, probably with DD again.

Regards

Gareth,

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I appreciate your reasoning for wanting to stick to 35M. Obviously living in Poole I dive these wrecks all the time, there are loads of better ones than the Sky.

Venezuala, Firth Fisher, Carantan, Betsy Ann, Castle Reagh, alex van opstel, chassuer No6. All less than 35M.

IMHO the Sky is not a good early season dive, in poor vis its too easy to enter it without realising.

I may come along on the Sat and give the Sun a miss.
