Smile Swashbuckling for Charity - 1800 mile UK Diving Charity Road Trip

It seemed a good idea at the time – and a long way off. A few light ales and talking like pirates, myself and Fatlaz (Ben) decided on a road trip to Greece to go diving where I used to work in Kefalonia. A sad day occurred last week and all this changed. I only met Chris Hall once, but that was enough to show me that he was a true gentleman – not many of those around these days.

So plans have changed and this is übershort notice I know, we have already raised a small pirates fortune for Motor Neurone Disease Research without even getting into the water – so the plan is an 1800 mile UK road trip. It will be a pirate theme all the way (hence the swashbuckling). The below dates and places are where we shall come to pillage and lighten your pockets for pieces o eight and golden nuggets.

Starting on bank holiday Monday, 1st may:

1st – Stoney Cove
2nd – Farne Islands (staying at Helens house – help us!) - SKIPPER NEEDED

3rd – St Abbs - SKIPPER NEEDED

4th – Capernwray (via Lancaster for Reebok pillaging – I hope)
5th – Day off (via Manchester for Rhydio pillaging)
6th – Chepstow
7th – Plymouth (Afternoon dive 3:30pm, places still left, call Brian of aquanaughts 01752 228825)
8th – Swanage Pier
9th – Portsmouth (to dive Isle of Wight) - SKIPPER NEEDED

10th – Day off
11th – Dover - SKIPPER NEEDED
12th - Brighton

If anyone can get any collections for the trip from your workplace and are on the route between these places where we can “pop” in and scuttle your workplace – PM me or fatlaz

Anyone and everyone turn up to all of the sites - even if it is just for a swift half or a chat. All the more people the better

This is our summer holiday boys and girls – lets make this happen (well – try to)

Donations already from the following companies:
English Nature
Rhydio Hosting
Linksys
NTL
Holiday Cottages Group
Oceans23

If anyone donates – company or individual – all shall be acknowledged. Company names will be plastered over the windows of the divemobile™ (donations first though )

For those about to dive we salute you!!!!!!!

Keith and Laz

I mentioned this to Chris when I saw him in February and he thought you guys are utterly mad, but was really keen on the idea.

Please guys, I know a lot of you donated in February, but hows about another tenner? Its only a tenner, and what can you buy for that? Bugger all. But if we all give a tenner, maybe we can help make the end to this disease come sooner, so fewer people have to go through what Chris did.

Please donate a little, as we can do a lot.

I've just done it, the fund is now £10 richer, thanks for the jolt to the memory Helen.

Mad? It can only be fun diving so many different locations in such a short time!

Thanks to you both, may your generosity and goodwill be the first couple of many.

Come on people, you know you want to give to such a good charity, Keith and myself are doing it all on our own (meagre!) wages and as a show of goodwill putting in some cash ourselves too.

Catch you all later, possibly even at some of the dive sites we are visiting, who knows?

(For divemobile see white(!) punto down on its springs with a couple of twinsets and sets of divegear in the back)
