| You get loads of whales in and around the Small Isles (Muck, Rum, Eigg etc). We have often seen them from our RIBS up there, primarily Minke whales. If you are looking for a day boat etc, check out Andy at Doune - incredibly helpful and a great skipper. Doune Holidays Knoydart Food aint bad either Cheers Snash

| My wife and I did some whale watching off Tobermorry which is n the isle of mull,. Although the whales were fascinating what really made our day was seeing the sunfish! Unfortunately this was on a boat and not diving.

Turn left about 150 miles short of scotland and you are in wales. A good map will be a help in this quest. As best I know there is no whale watching in wales however. Chris

| Yep there is a place on the sea front in Tobermory that does whale watching tours can't remember what they are called. Try the tourist board.

| Depends on how far north in Scotland you want to go. Lossiemouth, Moray Firth area is a good area for cetaceans particularly minke whales/dolphins etc. Often seen them in the Pentland Firth. Out looking for birds last week off Eshaness ( Shetland) when a pod of orca's swam by, they were off Sandwick yesterday morning - never seen one when I've been actively looking, but we regularly see orca, whitesided dolphins, harbour porpoises, minke locally. Have also seen spinner dolphins and there are risso's dolphins living between Sumburgh and Fair Isle. |

| As its been bourne out at the right time of the year theres always a chance of spotting some out of Tobermory on Mull. Unless its a dedicated whale watching trip on a dive boat/trip its going to be hit and miss. Theres actually a business that does trips whale watching isle of mull scotland theres quite a bit of info on the site I think its been going for quite some time. They are quoting a 98% chance of seeing some and I noticed the BBC used them recently. In addition to the waters around Rhum and Eigg plus Coll and Tiree the area off Ardnamurchan lighthouse seems a likely spot, theres actually a Whale observatory/shelter below the lighthouse.
