Scribley and I talked about buddying and that we would not expect to always dive together. She'll will be diving a meg and undoubtedly normoxic trimix. I would like to be diving nt by then but I am limited financially (and investing in cave courses) so 55m may still be too deep for me. Hence, we agreed we'd be happy to mix and match buddying.Originally Posted by Freeflow
I'm easily pleased (whoa Freeflow!) Like Freeflow I'll be happy just diving although I'd prefer wrecks, especially if I can get a good nosey inside

Jo Rawley buddied with Alun - OC (both on Air with deco stages).
Im happy down to a max of 40-45m but Alun may well be interested in a few deeper ones if you need a buddy in the 50m range.
So quite happy to mix n match buddies as sixsquid said.....

If this has now become a deep trip and everyone wants to do deep dives I'll pull out, sorry 40max.

Some of the dives that may be available dependant on all the usual factors of wind tide etc are as follows.
Bellavista (Papa Westray) 14m, 3500 ton
A very broken Panamanian steamship. ( so broken its almost a senic dive)
Char (Eday) 14m
In three sections with good swim throughs.
St Rognvald (Stronsay) 15m, 490 tons
Largely unidentifiable, she has been well broken by storms.
Hastings County (Auskerry) 15m, 4200 ton
Lying scattered over a wide area
Cotovia (Auskerry) 40m 4000 ton
This is an excellent wreck with large boilers, engine block and shell cases around the stern.
Tomalina (Westray): 27m, 200 ton
One of the best dives in Orkney. .
Llama (Westray) 14m 3000 ton Tanker
Often with stunning visibility
Tosto (Westray) 55m, 1300 tons
Intact with mine damage, sank in 1917
Freesia (Eynhallow) 40m, 290 ton
Trawler sank in 1922 partially broken
Endeavour (Shapinsay) 30m 140 tons
Lying upright on the seabed, reasonably intact
Zarefah (Mull Head) 40m 280 ton
recently discovered in the summer of 2002.
Only one of these sites is deeper than 40m ....alternative dives and choice of dive site may be available

I know you listed those Hazel but many of the posts now seem to be talking in terms of lots of 40+ 50-60m dives. I dont want a wasted week where I can only do half the diving I'd rather go on a different trip.

Think people are just discussing their maximum depths just in case we do get a chance of a deep one.
These are all new sites to me so if im told to dive at 15m i will.....![]()

On the deeper ones Jane i'm happy to buddy you on an alternative site or stay shallow so alun can go be a depth junkie with the others.......

Well I'll add my 2p's worth - just because I can![]()
I really want to do wrecks that; are new to me; I would not usually get the chance to do; or are unusual; or are rarely dived. The depth is irrelevant, all that it means to me is that if the wreck is shallow I don't need to do loads of decoand I get longer on the bottom
.
... ah, yes I did mention the Barrie, and I did so because it was such a cracking dive . However I did say "if possible" and was meaning for the first or last dive when we were in/near Scapa. Sorryif it is nowhere near the route that we are going to take - geography never was my strong point
