| Firstly "Good on ya" to all those who turned up at the Farnes on Sat 27th. The viz was awful and everyone who dived now knows what it's like to dive into pea soup. However, at least we got wet, saw a few seals (although I think more were seen at the surface than underwater) and we were still smiling at the end of it! (& even when the viz is poor, it still beats those well known inland sites!!) To prove that there were divers out there... ![]() Whilst the snow was on the Cheviot Hills.... ![]() William, our skipper for the day.. ![]() Well, by request the plan will be to dive again this Saturday 3rd Feb. LW will be about 930am. Probably aim to leave harbour about 9am (check with William on the Thursday /Friday before) Again we will look for seals and hope to have better viz! Even if the viz is poor we will try to have a short trip to the "canon site" (an old 18th centuary unknown wreck site (Dutch East Indiaman) after the first dive- where you can find 6ft long canon part burried in the bottom at depths between 6 and 17m. This depends however on the wind / sea state as the site can be a little "exposed". To book a place give the skipper (William Shiel) a ring on 01665 721297. All divers responsible for their own safety / dive plans / buddies etc. Cost £30 for the trip per diver - all monies direct to skipper. Any questions feel free to message me or simply post (if you're thinking it someone else probably is too.) Those seals can find you even when the viz is v.poor, how do they do it....BBC News | SCI/TECH | Seals use whiskers to track prey Keep an eye on the weather: BBC - Weather Centre - 5 Day Forecast in Celsius for Seahouses, United Kingdom All the best, Ben. Will be far better than those inland sites!! Any questions just post them & I'll try to answer. Ben "seal diver" |

| Weather here lately has been brilliant, nice and sunny and warm, slight wind today, but it's not cold. Spoke to William last night and it's probably ropes off around 0930 ish! So be there earlier to avoid any delays. On a sad note there was a dead seal washed up on the beach during the week, partially eaten. Who knows what happened, but you'd think someone would get rid of it, as it's becoming an attraction for everyone including my dogs. See you all tomorrow.

| Well, we made it today and had an absolutely fantastic day weatherwise, sadly the viz was not too good, but we still went in!! First dive was OK aound the canon site, second dive - St. Andre was not too good and with the water at 7 degrees, my hands practically froze off!! However, well done to all who ventured to the Farnes and nice to see Ben, Colin, Jo and Alun, plus the 3 other divers. Hope to see you again soon. Graham
