All along the side! But they are well stuck in

Another image. It's laying on the port side (the side in this photo for the non-nautical types). The stern appears to be seperate, as it does just end, with no props. I've never seen them anyway. I'd take a guess it's missing from behind the last upper deck bulkhead area. There's a bit of a break midway along near the engine room that is collapsing down a bit. Forward of that it is more over and closer to upside down.

OK then Friday weather is looking very good at the moment, although there are a few days to go yet and it can change quite a bit.

Can you all aim off for an MoD that will get you onto the Liner Cuvier if we have no Viz in the Hermes area. Thats about 41m to the bottom, but 35-36m MoD will do for the decks and holds

How does that tie in with the first post in this thread then Paul?

This is a DIR friendly gig and no need to go deeper than 30m
Is there nothing in Dover in the 20-30 metre range as an alternative?

Hermes is going inshore again so possibly poor viz, there are better viz options in mid channel, they are just a bit deeper, i will be on 32% for both options, we can get the shot onto the top and the wreck is very proud.

There are hundreds but they are all inshore so poor to no viz.

This is just an option to get some viz if it looks in doubt if you cannot do that then fine it is not a problem, we will stick to the Hermes. I really don't see a change in MOD planning from 32m to 35m as a major issue.

OK - thanks for that - we'll keep a watching brief then.

Tis about time I broke my Dover diving duck.... so fingers crossed for the Hermes.

Here is a rough idea of the locations, we have HMS Hermes on the Ruytinger Bank, the Cuvier is north of the Sandettie lightship, so very much mid channel.

HMS Flirt and UC46 SSW of the Sandettie Lightship, but they are both 40m dives.

I'm on the box so quite happy doing pretty much any depth, but given that this trip was advertised as a 30m max dive is it worth checking that everyone is qualified / comfortable with dive where the seabed is at 41m?

I'm comfortable, but a change from seabed at 32m to seabed at 41m seabed is quite a big one and I don't think people should be pressurised (and hasten to add that I'm sure it's not a concious thing on your part Paul) into going on a trip deeper than they signed up for.

Call be a big wuss if you want to , but in my pre-trimix, open circuit days, I would be very nervous about a potential 40m dive out of Dover in winter.
