I'm looking forward to this. As long as Spacehopper wears enough lead this time. Clearly 14 kg isn't enough these days

I wonder if I can blag a nitrox cylinder for this dive, as plain old air won't give that good a bottom time I don't think it would be a good time to make this my first 'trox dive somehow !

It's an ideal depth for nitrox actually, assuming you're qualified. It's just breathing after all, and with a sensible mix (I'll have 32 personally) there's no additional risk or whatever.

Oh yes, I am qualified OK, just never actually used it before. I was looking at 34, although I think that borderlines on contingency only, (too much G&T to work it out right now!)

Got a space cylinder I can borrow ? I don't have a clean tank

Unfortunately not - the only spare I have isn't 02 clean. You could probably hire one from your LDS for not much more than the cost of the nitrox fill?

I usually can't be bothered working out an exact best mix - I usually go for 32 because I know I can dive anything up to 35m on that (according to BSAC anyway but that's another kettle of fish!). That means if the dive is blown out I don't end up having to blow off the gas to get a weaker mix for a deeper dive etc etc.

The only times I'll tend to bother working out the 'right' mix is for deeper dives.
