My brain hurts I'm looking forward to this. As long as Spacehopper wears enough lead this time. Clearly 14 kg isn't enough these days I wonder if I can blag a nitrox cylinder for this dive, as plain old air won't give that good a bottom time

| It's an ideal depth for nitrox actually, assuming you're qualified. It's just breathing after all, and with a sensible mix (I'll have 32 personally) there's no additional risk or whatever.

| Oh yes, I am qualified OK, just never actually used it before. I was looking at 34, although I think that borderlines on contingency only, (too much G&T to work it out right now!) Got a space cylinder I can borrow ? I don't have a clean tank

| Unfortunately not - the only spare I have isn't 02 clean. You could probably hire one from your LDS for not much more than the cost of the nitrox fill? I usually can't be bothered working out an exact best mix - I usually go for 32 because I know I can dive anything up to 35m on that (according to BSAC anyway but that's another kettle of fish!). That means if the dive is blown out I don't end up having to blow off the gas to get a weaker mix for a deeper dive etc etc. The only times I'll tend to bother working out the 'right' mix is for deeper dives. Remember this is just some idiot on the internet who's been drinking beer. My meanderings should not supersede your training!
