Yes Zepp has found it, but others may follow who do not possess the same searching skills

Cheers Paul

(PS just for the anti bullying campaigners - Garf knows me well enough to know this is a tongue firmly in cheek message)

I might make it.
It would be nice to dive some warm water with easy access after last weekend.

Yes it is me working the saw.

Nigel, how do I say this in a non-bullying way? Chainsaw + ice.... risk assessment?

Reminded me of a mate of mine who was allowed a "go" with an underwater angle grinder. The job was set up on a kind of underwater workmate. He rushed in and applied the grinder. The next thing he knows is that he is wizzed on to his back very quickly and very hard, just as the angle ginder bit..... ie he offered less resistance than the pipe he was trying to cut.

Not sure which way a chainsaw turns, but either being thrown over the top, or sliding underneath with the blade between my legs, doesn't appeal.

I thought BSAC advice was to be roped up incase the ice gives way?

Just thinking out loud, please feel free to ignore

Cheers, Paul

Chainsaw?
That's 5 foot of hand saw. We had a pick-axe too.

So where we gathered five or six people on a thin bit and jumped up and down this was bad?

The orders were that you did not venture onto the ice without your dry suit zipped up. You are so buoyant then it is not a problem.

We were roped under the water and using rope signals.
The trip report is on pier review and should go public shortly.
