| Well after our planned diving on Sunday at the Farne Islands was cancelled I have contacted the skippers at St. Abbs to see who is going out and the only person is good old reliable Peter Gibson (there's only the Perfiect Storm that would put him off). So, Peter has plenty of availability on Saturday and Sunday and his times usually run 0900, 1100, 1300 and 1500. Sadly, the viz on Saturday 03 March was 1m-2m, which is more or less average for the weather conditions we have been experiencing lately. I am waiting for William Sheil from Glad Tidings at the Farnes to come back to me regarding his availability but please see Ben's (Seal Diver) thread ref 10March to book. So, it now looks like you have a choice of venues, but these will be completely reliant on weather conditions and as I discussed with Peter, its not worth me booking spaces in the hope that the trip will go ahead. Mainly because of the poor weather lately. I would suggest those wanting to attend either venue contact the skippers in turn to book their places. Saturday may be a better choice for the Farnes seeing as Seal Diver seems to be getting out without any great hassle. You can call the Skippers on the following numbers:- William Sheil (Glad Tidings - Farnes) - 07799 666573 Peter Gibson - St. Abbs - 07702 687606 Remember that I have not booked any spaces as a group, it's up to you to book your own. Please contact whichever skipper you want to go with on the Friday/Saturday beforehand to make sure that the diving is on, to avoid any disappointment. Good luck and let's hope we can get in.

Main focus will be with seals for me (although the Somali is always a possibility IF the tides are right?? ... LW slack.. for all those who need scrap iron nearby!!) Booking with William direct on tel: 01665 721297. Safe diving - hope to see you there, Ben. "Seal diver" YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. |
