Have been looking to find individual HARDBOAT spaces up to 30M in south coast in late March, anytime in April (except Easter) and May, but can't find anything.

Anyone have any spaces on a club booked boat or skippers looking to fill spaces?

Need to get meself bookjed before I end up diving Ribs in Portland again.

Steve

yeah, seen that, but you have to book in pairs, and I am a sad norman with no mates. Unless someone is looking for a regular buddy to team up?

No you dont.!

who told you thay?

the only stipulation is that you chat to the other divers on the trip and sort out who your diving with..... Dont ask the skipper to decide who dives with who....

regards

Come down here for some diving, you don't need a buddy to get on a boat and there is always a trip if the weather allows.

Interesting Dave - we were approached by a diver on a boat last year who asked to dive with us and he was not very impressed when we said that we would prefer that he didn't.

He was accomodated by another pair on the boat but it places divers in a very difficult position when lone divers expect to be able to team up easily - and especially if it is encouraged by the skipper at the time of booking.

This is not a DIR matter. You could easily have five pairs on a bot who for one reason or another would prefer not to have an unknwn quantity put upon them on a dive.

If any skipper/dive centre will not permit solo diving, then is it fair to accept individual bookings thus placing the burden of accomodating the diver on to other paying teams.

Interested in your view.

Anyway - should you not be jetting off somewhere exotic?

I've got a trip to Plymouth in May, but we're doing the Maine as one of the dives, and I think that's a little deeper than your limit. I've seen it advertised as 30m but I'm sure I got 34m on it. Not sure what the tides are like that weekend. Haven't checked.

I've been told that once in the past when I phoned up. When I managed to get a word in, I pointed out that I knew 4 other people on the boat.

Certainly haven't been told that since I used the web booking system,

Graham Knott had a charter with spaces but his mate had to use RJW because the charter didn't want anyone else on the boat

so to say pop along and team isn't right just be prepared to dive solo, however there are some who don't mind and will go with the flow
