Smile Evening Dives At The Farnes

Anyone interested in evening dives during the week please list your names below and we will try to arrange.

Typical dives will leave Seahouses harbour at 6.45pm and retrun about 9pm.
As the evenings are getting lighter now, these dives can be v enjoyable.

The hard boat would be with William Shiel (GladTidings)- excellent skipper who knows the area very well.

Safe diving,

Hi Ben

I'm always interested and tried to get out a few times last year, without success. I can't commit to any evenings as yet, but when you post dates, we'll see.

The evenings have been great up here lately....Graham

Probably be looking at a Tuesday evening initially.
If I get an idea of numbers I'll arrange a date. If you are reading and interested - post!

Safe diving,

It's a bit too far for me to get up there on an evening Ben.

Q. Why did the razorbill raise her bill?

OK.... I occasionally have to go "ooop norf". I am due in Durham at 9am Friday 11th May, which means i would need to be coming up the day before, and would be at a loose end on the Thursday evening

A couple of questions....

1. How long would it take to drive from Durham to Seahouses?
2. You mentioned Tuesdays... this is a Thursday, would that be a possible or not?
3. If Farnes is no good, is there anywhere else nearby (i.e. within easy reach from Durham) and would anyone like to join me?

I think to be fair to the OP, I ought to start a new thread

Going back to the original thread again (sorry )

I and most people at uni (I think!) get Wednesday afternoons off, thus making it a bit easier for us to round up the necessary people and pack em into a minibus.

What's the viz like at the moment up at the Farnes? Last time I tried in Jan I couldn't see my fins

Yes David,
We could do a Wednesday evening. In actual fact if you can get enough divers interested in an outing we could do a Wednesday afternoon / evening just for the Uni bunch. (say leave SH harbour 3pm and either one... or two dives!)

Viz is far better now! at least 3-4m.
Let me know.

Durham to the Farnes is about 1 hour and 15/20 minutes, but if you set off around tea time you'll get stuck in traffic going around past the metro centre. I go to this area from my home near the Farnes regularly and it takes the above time, or thereabouts.

It'll be a cae of numbers for Ben, but it would be worth a trip as the weather here lately has been great.

If you wanted somewhere closer midweek you'd be looking at Tyneside area and therre's a number of people from YD who live in this area I believe. Worth posting for a buddy.
