| Scapa Flow - The Heavy Metal Tour 18-25 August 2007 - Space available Scapa Flow - The Heavy Metal Tour 18-25 August 2007 I have 1 space available on this trip to Scapa due to one of the guys having to drop out. We will be staying with the Diving Cellar and diving off their incredibly steady dive platform the John L, in 2004 we were 1 of only 2 boats out on the fleet in some quite bad weather and the John L just shruggs it aside, giving a nice smooth ride The aim of the trip will be to dive some very heavy metal in that we will concentrate on the Cruisers and Battleships of the German High Seas Fleet. An outline of our dive program is as shown below subject to tides and weather, with the Cruisers we are aiming to do the deeper sections on the morning dives and concentrate on the shallower sections during the afternoon dives:- Day 1 Cruisers Koln and Brummer Day 2 Cruisers Dresden and Koln Day 3 Cruisers Brummer and Dresden Day 4 Battleship KronPrinze Willhelm and Cruiser Karlsruhr Day 5 Battleship MarkGraf and Destroyer F2 Day 6 Battleship Konig (Possibly KronPrinze) and Blockship Tabarca (This site is very tide dependent and may be on another day). The cost is £375 for the Diving and shore based accom including a good cooked breakfast each morning. The travel up and gas will be extra. To join this trip you must be Sport Diver or equivalent, so qualified to 35m and have a Nitrox qualification. A £75 deposit is required to secure the place and the balance is due on the 1 July. We are also looking at diving the Farne Islands on the way up on Thu and Fri 16 & 17 Aug if you want to join in that as well. Most are driving up from Kent and we can look at lift sharing if required.
