| OK all... to me it looks suspiciously like Frogman Rick will expire of misery if we don't do curry at some point over the weekend. I like him, he's a nice chap, so clearly that would be a Bad Thing Given his remarks about the argon setup though, I'd like to make it clear to all concerned that I'm not going anywhere near his drysuit zip all weekend. Someone else can gas themselves. Good luck with finding willing helpers mate I'm not a great fan of Indian curries(scarred by Hall-of-Residence horrors twice a week in first year of Uni), so usually prefer to head for alternatives but am not quite such a fussy britches that I won't go near it ever! If, however, the curry at this place resembles - in either taste, smell or visual appearance - the repulsive muck which I was forced to eat, I reserve the right to do a speedy bolt to the Dalesman. I can't believe that it can possibly be that bad though. Strikes me that if we are doing the curry thang it'd be better to do it on Friday (no diving Saturday) than Saturday night. If you require explanation for this logic, then I'd suggest that you PM either myself or Phil Ennis for a brief discussion of spicy food pre-dive, quoting as a reference chilli sauce at Capernwray last weekend. Soooo how does this sound as a proposal: Friday night - curry place, circa 20.30-21.00 (gives everyone a chance to get up there in time for some grub). Rick, do you have a name / number for that place so we can give 'em a call to book? Saturday night - Dalesman. Phil, what time would you suggest as a good'un for this? (i.e. what sort of time are we likely to knock off in the classroom on Saturday). Let me know who's up for this and I'll get it booked. Seems fair to me ....Hope this suits? Cheers Helen |

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>Although I love ze curry, I'm happy to go with the flow if you lot prefer something blander, I was just voicing my choice. I think it's the Spice of life/india or taj mahal (that should cover half the curry houses in Englandshire, lol). P.S I have a F-Valve fitted, but just incase; I also have a "Danger, Blast zone" patch under my zip

I'm actually pretty relaxed about it. To me it seems fair to have a jaunt to the curryhouse one night and a trip to the Dalesman another - that way everyone's a winner. I'm just working as the booking monkey though, so I all I need is to be pointed in the right direction. Speak your mind folks and I'll endeavour to get it sorted. F-Valve. Hmmm, so we'll see strange emissions of gas coming from your direction underwater. Perfect excuse for making you practise extra shutdowns. heh heh heh heh heh heh HM |

| OK goodly YD'ers, here's the skinny. After this weekend's splendidly successful TDI Advanced Nitrox course in the Lakes and at the Cape, HelenM, Jules and Phil Ennis cooked up a cunning plan to run a 'I'm under water, it's hit the fan, what skills do I need to extract myself from the brown stuff?' weekend. Projected Rescue & Safety Skills to be Covered: * Complete regulator failiure and how to address this * Controlled Buoyant Lift - of unconscious diver from depth * Rescue Scenarios - e.g. search drills * O2 Provider Course Make-up: * A day in the training suite at Dales Divers combined with * A full day in the water learning and drilling the skills. MINIMUM DIVER CERT FOR THIS GIG: Either PADI Advanced Diver or BSAC Sports Diver or other equivalent. Envisaged a maximum of 12 divers for the course - this allows for a ratio of 1:4 instructor to candidate. Course (Day One) to be held at Dales Divers training facility at: Dales Divers Bramhaw Sedbergh Cumbria LA10 5HP Day Two (in water) to be held at Wastwater in the Lake District (if you've never experienced 30 metre viz in the UK, now's your opportunity!! I jest you not.) Cost is £45.00 per diver which covers both days instruction, air and resources from Dales Divers (instructors, CPR Dummies, O2 etc.) NB: This is a Dales Divers 'Brush up Your Skills' weekend and is NOT a certifiable course - it is open to ALL diver training agencies and schools. It's a good idea for those who are maybe just getting back into diving now the season is upon us and for those attending some of the dive trips currently on the YD Dive Trip calendar. If it is found that this 'course' becomes over-suscribed, then we shall be happy to run another one very shortly after this one, so please don't worry if you can't get on this one, as we envisage that they will become regular events. ** NB: We aim to get there Friday night, so we might partake of some comestibles and a sherry or two - the social side of the weekend begins here! Right then, let's be having your names: YD 'Skills-n-Drills' Weekend - Sat 08th & Sun 09th May 2004 * 01 Helen 'Speak Up!' Mutter * 02 Julia 'Tiggie Winkles' Clark * 03 Bren Tierney * 04 Rick 'Frogman' Huggins * 05 AirAssisted (Ian) * 06 Dave (Psmudge) * 07 Mark 'Mind the Steps, please Sir' Davies * 08 Mike * 09 Ben 'Driftwood' Durrant * 10 Ian 'DivingPunkAss' Sherrocks * 11 Troop Gig Total = 10.....filling up nicely and NEARLY FULL!! KEEP EYES-ON FOR ANY SPACES BECOMING AVAILABLE!!! YD 'Liggers-in-Residence' - Sunday only, and doing their own thing * Gavin Yates * Wee Ben
