A grand day out at Swanage planned

We have a mini trip to Swanage Pier planned to celebrate Hogan Deifar's birthday. We will be bimbling on Thursday 12th July with Swiss Dave and joining Resting Rifleman for a brew.

Anyone who fancies it is very welcome to join us. (Newbies very welcome, it is nice and shallow)

Pull a sickie or grab an annual leave day and come on down. Let's party.

PM one of us if interested.

YEY!!!!!! xxx

Would love to have come not only to dive the pier again, and it would have been good to have met with other YD'ers. But unfortunately I'm being dragged to Salou to ride coasters with my 16yr old daughter, who has incidently told me I can't dive when we're there because "it's a family holday".
Have fun I'll think of you all doing that great little dive.
Doug

So far as i know its a bimble under the pier, then a drift for the second dive.

Diving is very much like making love to a beautiful woman, first you do some checks of the site for favorable conditions, then you go down for as long as you can,and if part of your buddy brief you maybe able touch the bottom, then you start to make your way to the end you come up breathless smiling and your cylinders empty.

Ian, as far as I know, the ladies are looking at a bimble under the pier.
I have the terrible two booked (clem and harry or "the diggers")

for two slacks on the kyarra (h/w@0928 leave at about 0840- l/w @1530 leave at about 1445) and there was still room on both dives last time I checked. there may well be a drift or a fluer on the cards later in the morning. (11ish)
mike.

How embarrassed am I now???

PV you could've just said the trip to Swanage was for fun!!!!

Anyway, to explain, my 40th is on 10 July, but unfortunately PV ended up having to work. So we've planned it for Thursday 12 July. Times to be confirmed. (Mike, did she tell you it had moved to the Thursday? If not would you move your pencil mark over a few days please???? )

The plan is to meet up, grab a cuppa, then go for a bimble up and down the pier. Then we're maybe off to do a drift or the fleur. Nothing too heaving. The Kyarra's a little too deep for me just yet!

It is a free for all, and anyone who wants to come and say hi or join us are welcome.

And if you're wondering (yeah, yeah I know you're not but I'm gonna tell ya anyway) I've still got my birthday off work, I'm going to my LDS and spending copious amounts of money that I've managed to con out of my friends and family and then in the evening, the club I belong to are having the "Monty Halls Talk". After that we're off for a curry! Reckon I can get away with asking Monty to join us, seeing as it's my 40th!?!?! The least he can do is give me a free signed birthday edition of his book, don't you think!?!? - hey, can't blame a girl for trying, can you now!??!

This is truly a first for me. For 39 years I've played down my birthday and made an effort for everyone elses. This year, with lots of encouragement from some friends I'm doing about a weeks worth of celebrating. Five lunches booked so far, 2 evening meals. A days diving. The only down side is I'll be officially OLD!!!

If you're in the area of Swanage on the 12 come and say hi! It'd be great to meet anyone and everyone!!!

Mike, can't wait to see you again. I'll remember that day, my first proper drift, with such fondness! You made me feel so at ease! Glad you didn't jack it in like you were threatening to, despite it being a bad week for you that week.

12 days to go and counting. Tick, tock, tick, tock........

Thanks Mike, I may be in Eire/Ireland that week, if not I may pop down. I won't know for a few days as my better half needs to make her mind up.

I hope you have a brilliant time. Sadly, work means i can't get down, i have to go in the opposite direction.

Make your 40th a good 'un. I spent mine at the calgary stampede having to wear a t shirt with ' I am not 40, i am 18 with 22 years experience'. Brilliant day... best birthday I have had ever!
