Some nice shore diving at Beadnell - wind direction dependant though.

Yep, head down to Beadnell. There's some stuff on the left as you head towards the main car park, usually a lot of cars just parked up on the left of the road - just head down over the rocks / beachy-thing and you're straight in. Some nice gulleys down there, think it goes down to about 10m or so as you swim out, but haven't done it for ages so can't remember very well. Wouldn't do it if the wind is blowing straight in from the East, but if its off-shore wind or a little from the south then you can dive in the lee of the big bit of rock that sticks out by 200m or so... can't for the life of me think of the proper name of things that stick out like that though, which is quite annoying David Last edited by Scuby : 21-07-07 at 02:34 PM.

| Our club called off its trip due to expected North/North Easterlies going to Force 6. Capernwray or Blue Lagoon look good.

30 mile drive to St. Abbs area offers lots of shore diving sites. Petticowick near St. Abbs Head is often diveable when everywhere else is blown out but a bit of a trek and scramble down and back up the hill. Wreck known as the Peanut Boat here and shore diveable.

thanks for the replies. we had a look at the gulleys in beadnell and they seemed alright, but by the time we'd got the final no from the skipper, we were virtually at low tide. by the time high tide came along we were all too drunk to consider diving, well we did consider it as least will keep st abbs in mind for when we get blown out at the farnes next weekend. cheers andrew ps. we did two nice dives today, so not a total loss
