| i've been asked the question "what the policy will be if we are unable to dive for one or more of the days due to bad weather or sea conditions in the opinion of the skipper" i specifically asked this question and the answer is if in the skippers opinion the weather is too bad to dive we get a refund for the missed days. the caravan park is about 11miles/20mins. where ever we stay we'll have to get into cars each morning to get there. i don't know ilfracombe well but do know it can be a bit rough this was recommended as not being so. i took the view an extra 5mins in the car was worth it if it avoids some grief. bit in essence i pulled it out of the hat are you camping or caravaning? | Ilfracombe is a traditional British seaside town. Amusements, fish and chips, tea rooms and guest houses. I don't think it is any better or worse than most towns in England (except Slough obviously). I would point out that the campsite at Chivenor is opposite to the Royal Marine Base!! It is a way from Ilfracombe but no more than a 15/20 minutes by car. It's not a bad choice. There are also many larger camps at Woolacombe which are closer and might be worth a look another year. The nearest village is Braunton which has a number of pubs and takeaways and is not too far. The Williams Arms which is close by has a good restaurant and does a great carvery. If you want to eat together one evening I would recommend it. Last edited by IPA101 : 08-02-08 at 06:57 PM. |
