I use Northlink Ferries. NorthLink Ferries - Orkney and Shetland car ferries – OFFICIAL SITE. Book over the phone.

Park at Scrabster for the week, cost £8 last year, I think. Ferry is about £15 as a foot passenger.

I have a dive container booked if you are on the same crossings as me, they are listed somewhere in the thread. Plenty of room of 3 other people's kit in there.

Could be, if I get the space, Mrs H has given me the permission slip, I just need to hear from Hazel if the space is available.

Personally, I'd be happy on the roof for a week in the Northern Isles

Well, you'd better get the roof-rack out, looks like I'm coming on this gig after all.

Last time I was in Scapa (2005 mind you) it was something like 28.50 return for a foot pax on the Northlink ferry. Parking in the harbourside car park was an astonishing 35 quid for the week

It takes five hours to drive up there from Muirhead/Gartcosh. I normally aim to be up there by 10.00 to give me time for a cheapo brekkie and slabbing up in tescos in Thurso.
