| Baltimore Dive Centre John - I ran a club trip for 12 through the Baltimore Dive Centre during the summer. Whilst I think that the boat could be improved, I didn't find the Centre to be "shite" at all. The self-catering house that is offered we found to be great accomodation, even for the 15 people that we took (3 non-diving partners). Sadly, we didn't get that much diving done though due the terrible weather there in July (It hit force 8 one night). Just a note - I looked at the Ryanair flights and eventually decided to use Air Lingus from Heathrow. 20kg for baggage instead of 15 and 4 flights per day. Then even if one is delayed, other there problems, then you can get a flight a later flight. If there are problems with the Ryanair flights then you have lost a days diving. Cost difference was not that much... Also, we had one club member load up his Range Rover will all the heavy kit and bring it across on the ferry (Pembroke - Rosslare, since the Swansea - Cork ferry wasn't running in 2007) and we split the cost amoungst the group. Also I used Dave Long Coaches of Baltimore to collect us all from the airport and take over to Baltimore. I hope that the above at least helps you with the planning! Andy PS - PM me if you want any further help!

| I went with them a couple of years ago. The cat was out of the water and we were crammed onto ribs and another little boat that belonged to a mate of John's. Everything was done in "Irish time." Weather was a bit variable, and to be fair, the diving was ok, although nothing special. Accomodation is good to be honest, just know that the other people, Aquaventures, are a bit more professionally run. |
