Exclamation Red Sea Quick Advice Needed Please.

Hello,

I've just book a last min trip to the Red Sea today on the MY Juliet. I go Tomorrow AM! I was going to go to Scapa, but my buddy chicken out due to the cold.

I never been to the Red Sea so I would like some advice on the following or anything else people have found useful.

1. Wet suit? 5mm?

2. Torch size?

3. Can you, need to twin up?

4. Bag allowance on a BA Flight?

5. on-line insurance broker?

Many thanks

Should do, but gets cold in the wind after the dive at this time of year, some take their drysuits...

Can do, but you may find you don't need to, depends entirely on yourself - some need advance warning, but as you are leaving it late...

1. Wet suit? 5mm? - this will be fine, can get a bit windy on the boat after the dive

2. Torch size? don't take your green force, you'll just annoy everyone
the water will be very clear on night dives so a small one is fine. I just use my tiny little backup light

3. Can you, need to twin up? depends on the boat and you will need to inform them before hand

4. Bag allowance on a BA Flight? in April the allowance was 23kg plus 23kg (or maybe 20kg + 20kg) sporting allowance. I took 15kg plus 10kg

5. on-line insurance broker? Westfield Sub Aqua and Marine Insurance for divers

Just booked with BA to fly to US, and their hand baggage policy is the usual size and that which be carried into the overhead locker. Regs and torch etc you should have no problem with.

I took regs computer mask etc with thomson in the summer and was under the 5 kilo that they had.
