| Channel Islands Diving 2008 One of the local skippers has organised four week long trips to dive the Channel Islands during 2008. Plan will be for Maverick (hardboat with lift) to cross channel with dive kit aboard to Guernsey. Divers to travel to Guernsey on the Condor (much faster than crossing aboard Maverick, and saves a days worth of charter fees), then spend the week diving aboard Maverick. Each night will be spent sharing a cottage ashore, aiming to visiting each of the major islands (Jersey, Guernsey, Sark, Herm etc.) over the week. Max depth will be around 30 metres. Return on Condor the following Saturday, again with Maverick bringing back the kit. The skipper, has spent plenty of time working in the Islands, knows the area well, and is a qualified Channel Islands pilot. This should mean good diving whatever the weather does. Costs are based on daily charter of Maverick split between each diver (just over fifty quid each/day for a boatload of eight divers based on current fuel prices), and the cost of the accommodation (which varies according to the season, about £100/week in August). Air fills, food and beer will be extra on top of this. There is space for eight divers on each trip. To find out more or confirm a booking contact Dorset Charters who own Maverick. I am sure this will be a fun week of diving, and anyone who hasn’t visited the Channel Islands in the summer is in for a treat. Dates as follows: May 3rd – 10th June 14th – 21st August 9th – 16th CC Last edited by Captain Calamity : 10-12-07 at 09:01 PM. |
