Smile Dorothea

Myself and my buddy have fancied diving Dorothea but as neither of us have been there before i was just wondering whats the script.

i know the site is not an offical dive site and emergency fascilities are not available so the day should be planned correctly.

Im AOW with 120+ dives my buddy is 150+ IANTD adv eanx so the day would be planned with me on single 15 and 7lt stage as backup hell be on twins so i suppose it would be 30 mtr max for around 15mins then slowly ascending to a shallower depth. Ive been with simon on a few practice simulated decco dives but nothing to technical as im still preparing for te twin route and would appreciate it if any of the more experience divers who use this location could give us tips on where is best to dive.

The plan is at the moment to get my 11 day in sharm out of the way from the 15th Dec and more likely to dive after xmas.

cheers

john

fancy it tomorow?

basicaly there is

6m
22m
36m
40m
55m
70m
90m
104m

sections to dotty

the best thing to do if you fancy a trip round it to go with someone that knows the site personaly but if u were going to go then given your peramiters i would probably do somthing similar to this.....

in off the jetty, look for the oil barrel boy face it and deccend to 6M, follow the topography of the bottom until you reach the 20M section and bump into some cables decending, decend to 36M and if you feel happpy down to 40M to the old blast house and the gnome garden then continue right along the 36M shelf (if you went to 40 go back up the way u came) you will see the jib of an old crane and a few cars on your way accross then accend to 20M turn right along the ledge as it drops to 25 stay at 22 after 5-10 mins u should see a short tunnel head through here and turn right on your left is a petrified forest, head back round the outcrop the tunel went through or back through the tunnel up 2 u and countinue on the 20m shelf accending very slowly to 6ish follow the slope round keeping it to your right then at about 8M there will be a crane after maybe a 10 minute swim have a look at that then realise u should have looked at your gauge sooner and head along the same 6M shelf for about 50M keeping it to ur left and accend back at jetty.

hope this helps
