YD's 'Freeze your nuts off' winter gig 2008 (12/13 January)

a massive thanks to leigh and chris for putting up with me!!

it was great to meet some more fellow YD'ers.

and thanks to all the fellow RB divers who i spoke to & pinched ideas/advice from.
BTW my unit is now totally stripped and in the process of being updated/modified because of said discussions - much to the delight of Greenie (she should be used to me taking over the living room with my diving gear spread everywhere??)

On a different note... could someone please explain how common courtesy and manners get left at the surface sometimes? There i was, at the nautilus, practicing shut downs (so as not to embarass myself next week) with one hand, trying to keep myself stationary in the water, when I was bumped and jostled from behind and below by a twinset diver and his/her buddy on a single + pony. No acknowledgment, apology, or signal of any description.

It isn't only new divers who are doing skills!

It was me chasey is on about. your tins are still empty and in the back of wilbo's car. Someone wagged their finger at me in the water (All I did was try to cause Mal to have a rapid ascent by puishing him down a few metres from above until he inflated his wing, and then letting him go ) and my toys had an "out of pram experience" until I realised they were having a laugh

I had a cracking day on Saturday despite the growing list of people who online say they will dive with me but when it comes down to it cry off, the Dud, Di and Scubee to name 4

Many thanks to Richard, Nigel and Frankie for the dives and to Frankie again for the lift, Rob Dobson for the tools and Jo [Scribley] for the pouch, and to everyone else I met up with.

It was great to catch up with old faces, and to meet new ones. Special mention must go to Fatlaz though for finding a white cane lookalike on a dive for Di to take the p*ss out of me with

And the quote of the day from Mark Powell in the pub ''it was getting boring over there, and straight away this conversation is more interesting'' the conversation being whether a certain female diver needs a 'Hollywood' cut or would be able to get away with a 'Brazilian' to use the new 'she' valve
