Smile Dive Norway On Jane R (8th German Destroyer Fleet) Narvik

Hi all

I am organising my sixth trip to Norway with Gordon on the Jane R, (Narvik to Narvik to be specific and will include the 8th German Destroyer Fleet in Narvik), 28th August 2008 to 5th September, 2008 and has a few spare places available. Diving is based aboard the Jane R and includes for full live aboard.

I've attached the details he has sent me below, if anyone is interested in joining the trip call Martin on the attached mobile number

Dive Narvik and see some of the 14 sites of WW2 wrecks from the Battle for Narvik. We visit more wrecks on this trip than is possible to dive, nitrox is available on board so divers can maximise diving and safety

The Tirpits was off limits to divers last time i was i narvik ,,
should be a good dive ,, hope you can get to dive her ,,,

yes i hope so, was on jayne r last year diving the wrecks around bergen

never been north to narvick looking forward to the trip

take lots of money and a warm coat ,, and you will have a fab time ,,,

there is a hospital ship , that went down about half a days sail from narvik harbour i was a v good dive as i remember ,,,

There is a small museum there with a film about the battles of Narvik. It is usually played in Norwegian, but they do have an English version. Well worth the visit. They also have a small section of Tirpitz armour, only small because you wouldn't want to move a big bit.

There is a good shore dive, the destroyer Herman Kunne 0-45m and a Junkers 52 in 7m in a freshwater lake both about an hour's drive from Narvik.

I really must get back there, I keep reading about peoples trips.

there isnt such a thing as a bad dive just some are alot better than other
