Thumbs up Eyemouth - 30+31 August 2008

Hi all

I have provisionally booked a weekends diving up at Eyemouth with Marine Quest (Jim and Iain) and have some spaces left for anyone interested in joining.
Although their boat (with a lift) takes 12 divers I have restricted the numbers to 10, so as to give us more room, but I may increase if numbers dictate.
You can look at Marine Quest's web site here:-
Boat Charter & Accommodation in Eyemouth, Scotland

Marine Quest usually do 2 x trips per day, morning and afternoon and I have booked the afternoon trip for 30th and morning trip for 31st. This will hopefully help anyone who has a loong journey to and from Eyemouth.

The cost of boat charter is £330.00, so this makes £33.00 per diver/per day and I will require £40 deposit per diver if you wish to take a space. Please PM me if you are interested and I will place you on the list below. We will be doing 2 x dives per day.

Marine Quest also have accommodation if you require this, which is made up of 2 x bunk rooms with 3 bunk beds in each and 1 x room with 3 single beds in. Each bedroom is en-suite and there is a communal lounge with TV and free internet use. The cost of accommodation is £25 bed & breakfast per person/per night and is situated above their dive station and cafe. Breakfast is served in their cafe and you can get airfills from the station. Please state on the list if you will require accommodation at Marine Quest (another £20 deposit will be required for this), although you are free to arrange your own elsewhere.

Please note: all deposits are non-refundable.

Any queries - please contact me.

Poo - off to Espana on the Sunday night so y'all have a good time without me. I'll be managing to sneak some dives in on the Costa del Sol

I guess this trip is meant for those of us who don't have the luxury of going abroad in summer.

Depth varies around the area from a shallowish bimble of say 8m to the Glanmire wreck of about 30m. However, in my experience of diving the area, the usual is 16m to 26m, so you should be OK with this.

Hope this helps........Graham

Sorry if it sounded like a bit of bragging - not intentianal. I do consider myself quite lucky in that respect. Just really looking forward to this holiday although I think I'll be paying for it for the next couple of years but I'm getting married next summer so make that 20 years!

No worries, I'm envious of anyone who can get away during the year, as me and the missus work for oursleves and never take holidays until Xmas, although we do take odd days. However, being sefl employed does have other major benefits, so can't complain too much.
