| The Saturday dives Sorry your diving today was blown out guys but we didn't really get much yesterday. The site was changed to HMS Landrail, which I was very excited about as it was only the other day that I was saying how I would like to dive her again. 2 years on and, hopefully, a more experienced diver. While the conditions were ok and no one was hurling, even our current champion Hebails, it was a bit choppy and the viz appalling. Weazel, Hebails and I were the 3rd group to the shot and, after some confusion as to whether we were collecting the previous 2 divers from the shot, we found ourselves descending beyond the slack window. It all went extremely dark at approx 22m but we happily continued down only to find the shot contently in a large plot on the sandy seabed. From the glimpses of seabed appearing under the running snot I reckon the current was quite fast and we ventured off against it in search of the wreck. Quite speedily we were 2 and, sadly, after 10 minutes search there was no wreck to be found so we bagged up and ascended. Rather disappointing but good to be back in the sea at last. Nice bit of lunch, as usual, and Vonny being star crew we headed to the harbour for our 2nd dive. Weazelz found a rip in his neoprene neck seal but after tales of Finbar diving solidly wrapped up in Gaffa tape (now, now It was a pleasure to share the boat with Mark and his 2 students, team SNAFU, Roberts.T and Steve S. Great to see John again after such a long time and fab to meet Steve at last We had a good feel of each others faces so we may even recognise each other again I must pass thanks to Mark, and the others, who helped retrieve my glove after I jettisoned it into the sea I really appreciate all the determined effort and no-one just letting it go. Thanks guys I learnt from this dive ...................... 1. don't try warming your neoprene by squirting hot water into your hood when you've tucked your gloves in there 2. Vonny gives good crotch strap 3. Careful where you kneel - I was very lucky no-one had a camera or mine and Marks reputation would be in tatters ![]() I hope you all get out on Monday

| A cracking day out and worth the 500 mile drive and 04.30 start Things I have learned. Sixy had more than her fair share of double entendre moments Vonny has finally took her 'fat' glasses off and has seen me for the svelte person that I am Great day, great company. The only downside was that I couldn't find anyone to say bye bye to when I'd finished putting my gear away Safe diving, Steve

| Actually Steve, I tried to find you to say goodbye but you are now so thin that as you got changed behind the lamppost, you became invisible. Sorry, I had to take Scimitar back to Weymouth with Pete and we had a bit of a rush on. Thanks for all being such good company, thanks for all keeping your breakfast down and maintaining your sense of humour on a rocky boat. Hope to see you all again soon. xxxx
