Unknown Sailing Ship - First Dive of the '08 Season - 20 April

I have spoken to Helena at Scimitar Diving to find their availability for the only weekend I have free until October which is the 20 April 2008.

Smudge is away for a couple of days but will confirm exact times (somewhere around 09:00 RO from Portland) and costs but there is a minimum of 8 to make this run. The more the better as this will reduce the costs (in the order of £500 for the day).

Having spoken to several people over the weekend, the main aim of this day would be to recover some items from the seabed to see if they can be identified as it appears that Steve Cheshire's tiresome searches of the Times haven't proved conclusive (unfortunately).

Feel free to post here but the primary list will be on DIRX under this thread.

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

Aaargh. Thanks Morag. Would you happen to have it booked the day before too? Although they do have 2 boats now so that might be their solution.

Yes, i have it booked for both days - however I haven't got many people up for it, so we may be able to come to an arrangment.

Nope, not yet. It is one of my club trips, the max depth will be 45m, so it is likely that it will be somethign liek the buccaneer which was a lovely dive when we did it last year.

Interesting as it appears that the Buccaneer is the more popular wreck for the 19th

I'll let you speak to Helena first tomorrow then
