If you fancy driving to Scrabster that is fine...I prefer to drive to Aberdeen..have a nice dinner on the boat..drive from Kirkwall to Stromness to meet the Valkyrie on the Saturday night..get the Friday 23:45 overnight ferry back to Aberdeen with an en suite cabin and be back in Edinburgh for about 10:00 on the Saturday.
No containers...all gear safely stowed away in the mini bus

Civilised and pleasant...like all Slapper trips should be :-)

you might have noticed that Gordons trip includeds a minibus ....... however in the interests of Yd charities you could do a sponsored container push ......just by you

All down to personal preference.
The trek to Scabster, BB, Dinner, early start, container etc became a bit of a faff for folk I dived with (especially after a drive from South of England,folk preferred to come up to Edinburgh, curry and overnight and set off on Saturday)...so I decided to set off about 12:00 on the Saturday with a fuly loaded minibus with cylinders, CCRs, lead etc..a wee drive up to Aberdeen..a couple of pints and dinner in the posh restaurant on board..a chat in the posh lounge on leather settees and then a short drive round to Stromness on arrival.

First thing on Sunday, unload the minibus and start diving.

Friday night, load up the minibus again.off to Kirkwall for the traditional curry and beer..on to the ferry..couple of pints...nice en suite cabin for a good night's sleep and arrive in Aberdeen at 7:00.

Set off in minibus for Edinburgh, bacon roll en route..arrive in Edinburgh about 10:00 to pick up your cars and drive home to wherever.

Or you can drive to the North and take a ferry from there.or kit up and swim the Pentland Firth.

As students, we used to tow a floppy up and camp on the beach...but I now prefer the luxury option....and hence the Valkyrie..warm water in my gloves and Hazel & Helen's charming company

Travel on Aberdeen Ferry up on Saturday 12 September and back on overnight ferry to Aberdeen on 18 Sep, arriving in Aberdeen on 19 September

£280 for the week for the boat, diving air, B&B (2009 prices are up due to fuel increases)
£80 return on the ferry (including cabin on return)
If sharing the minibus
£170 a car/minibus return (we will take a minibus from Edinburgh and any car/minibus fares will be divided by the passengers in each vehicle)
