Travel on Aberdeen Ferry up on Saturday 12 September and back on overnight ferry to Aberdeen on 18 Sep, arriving in Aberdeen on 19 September

£280 for the week for the boat, diving air, B&B (2009 prices are up due to fuel increases)
£80 return on the ferry (including cabin on return)
If sharing the minibus
£170 a car/minibus return (we will take a minibus from Edinburgh and any car/minibus fares will be divided by the passengers in each vehicle)

Wow, talk about forward planning! I'm interested but being a commitment-phobe, don't want to say yes just yet

Excuse my ignorance, but when you say minibus where does this go from/to?

Slapper luxury minibus goes from Sunny Edinburgh.

Ah, got it. Since I'd be coming from London, would it be easy to get flights to Aberdeen then hop on the ferry? Flights seem pretty cheap!

And what deposit and payment schedule is happening?

Plenty of flights to Edinburgh or Aberdeen, you would be as well joining us in Edinburgh as I could pick you up at the airport with your gear, you would need to meet up with us to get your gear on the minibus for Kirkwall/Stromness and faffing about at the terminal in Kirkwall at 23:00 would be a pain.

Most folk from the south come up on the Friday, stay overnight (meeting for curry and beer) and then we all set off about lunch time on the Saturday

Deposits will be £100 a head
