    Malta june 2008, 1st, and 8th

Some of you may know that i am a regular visitor to Malta, i have made plans to go for the first 2 weeks in june this year. Of course it wouldn't be the same without putting the invite out to yd.

If anyone is interested then it will work like this,

week 1, commencing by flying over any airline you like to arrive 1st june, air malta , Air Malta-cheap flights to malta, holiday in malta , is currently £217.40. if you want me to sort transfer it is best if you arrive in groups. diving will be with Scubanauts Dive School - SCUBA Diving in Malta , kate from the shop can arrange accomodation at the hotel plevna in sliema, a ten dive pack plus bnb at the plevna was last quoted at £495 but you must email them and make arrangements.Welcome to Hotel Plevna

check out the shop web site for details of the diving, it is mainly shore based, there are rapid drop offs down to 35 ish m, plenty of metal to look at too. all the fish hang round the wrecks so what's not to like about them.

week 2, deeper stuff, weather permitting as ever. there are some absolutely stunning dives in the up to 70m range, with subs, and destroyers. the stubborn, hellespont, to name but 2 of a long list. aim is to do a few trips out with Barrascuba - Dive Leaders , plus shore dives.

you are welcome to come for one, or both weeks, or even pick a few days during the week.

if you decide on the 2nd week i need no's and a deposit to pay for the boat in advance. the dive shop uses single steel tanks with 12l tall and dumpy, 10's and a couple of 15's. if you bring bands etc, these can be twinned. rebreather tanks are available and al 10's can be used for bail out. sofnolime is about double the price you would expect to pay here, o2 and he are in stock.

    pm if interested. mike

Just got back from 2 weeks out there. Can recommend scubanauts, Mark and Kate are lovely and went out of their way for us, great if you like wreck diving. Didn't dive as much as usual as had my daughter with me but the dives we did were great, especially liked the Um Ul Faroud. They even catered for us diving with twinsets and up to 90 minute dive times. Weather was great (a bit of wind on the odd day which meant some shore dives weren't do-able) and viz was at least 25m.

Better to know where you've been and not where you're going, than to know where you're going and not where you've been!
