Just had 2 days on Douggies boat. The viz is great at the moment, loads of life and I did Hilsea Point for the first time which is a great scenic dive. Even Digger liked it and he doesn't like poking fish. We did the JEL which is always a nice dive (although it seems to be getting shorter), the Elk (sorry Douggie we did a bit too much deco on that) and the Scylla which is looking all properly overgrown and everything.

Look out for the foot-high scrawl on the port side near the stabilizers that says DIGGER IS GAY.

Oh and you can get 12 on the boat quite happily if you lob a couple of people at the back. We did.

and you can get another 6 in the cabin if you really want to spread out, the benches in there are kitted up with bungee straps too.

Good to see you Woz

Yes, have to agree, a good weekend of diving! Even more brilliant for me as it was my first time under the water this year, because I've spent the first 5 months of the year floating around on it!

Nice to see the Scylla full of life, and the JEL is always an old fav of mine!

Hillsea Point also a very nice dive, though the highlight for me was seeing Digger nearly jump out his drysuit when I dropped a rather large spider crab in front of him from above. I think I lost about 20 bar in 2 mins with the amount of laughter that followed!!!

Anyway, nice to see everyone, and a big thumbs up to Team Lovely for a 4 great dives!

Cheers,

Jen

Right then you 'orrible lot

Here's the final SP.

Everyone has paid. Thank you. I have paid Aquanauts for the full weekend. They say thank you. End result, we're going diving. Hurrah!

OK, the details are as follows:

Ropes off on the Saturday will be around 10AM from Aquanauts' birth, so please be there ready to set off at 10 to make sure.
They are based at:

Aquanauts
88 Vauxhall Street
The Barbican
Plymouth
Devon
PL4 0EY

The boat mooring in the Barbican is right by the shop.

If anyone wants to, Turbie says you can drop your gear off in the shop if you arrive before they close on Friday evening, and then you don't need to worry about parking to drop gear off on the Saturday morning, or you can car share in more easily.
We will be doing two dives per day, and not returning to shore between dives, so you will need two full tanks for the Saturday, and lunch. Tanks can be filled for Sunday at Aquanauts when we get back on the Saturday.

My mobile number if anyone needs to call me is 07703 065302.

Current itinery:

Saturday : Scylla 26m and JEL 16-20m (both to sea bed)
Sunday : Either GlenStrathallan 16m and Mew Stone 18m ish or
Persier and something else on the other side of the Sound.

(We'll confirm this on the Saturday - Where do we go - You Decide )

Ropes off on Sunday may be slightly earlier to allow people with long journeys to get started home a little earlier. Again, we'll confirm this on Saturday.

Any queries in the meantime, feel free to post here or PM.

Thanks for this Derek.
I'm in 2 minds about how to get there now.
I can either drive down on saturday morning (about 4 hours) or speak to Brian about renting a twinset and grab the train.
Anyone else heading down from London?
Cheers
Paul
