Out of interest Lloyd what world record are we aiming to set here? Does one already exist and are we aiming to beat it and how is it worded? Are there any depth or time implications or do we just get in the water breath on OC (or CC) for N minutes and get out? If there already is a similar one, how many santas do we need to get in the water in order to beat it?

I've searched the gwr site and I can't find any record of this sort... so it may well be a first. The record is for the "largest number of simultaneous scuba diving santas".

Preferrably I'd like to get >30 in the water (if ironing can get 72+), I made suggestions to the gwr of a 8-10 metre dive with a dive time of 20+ minutes.

By the time you get everyone in and out of the water and given the temperature thats long enough. Last year I think we did 38mins and 30mins, and we had around 8-10 people in the water. We'll need to get evidence, photographs underwater of everyone, everyone will need to comply with santa costumes.

We'll need two surface people of upstanding status in the community (which as far as I can tell means that they have a job and not an arse) to verify the information, sign everything, and write a short report. This will be helped by having the media there for evidence. I've been in touch with the BBC journalist from last year, I've in the process of emailing the editor of diver again (I organised things a bit late last year but they should cover it this year), I'll call local papers in the area, and I'll call ITV/sky/etc too.

will put more as it comes up/I remember....

Depending on the necessity of my son to play footy, I might be available to come and take some piccies, general surface support, count divers etc, but probably not dive.

However, as I have both a job and an arse, does that count me out?

Names added. To reduce the chance of confusion - I was offering to assist if any prep beforehand was needed as I am local, unfortunately this won't be on the day as I wish to dive and grab some of the glory.

30 Santas on the Jacquin II would make one helluva picture to show the grandchildren when we're old and infirm - that'll be the next day for you Matelot.

Well, I am prepared. I now have a nice Mrs Santa skirt and 2 santa hats.
If I wear a skirt (red with white fur trim) do I still have to wear a beard?

And I have a spare Santa hat if anyone wants it.
