I'm sure there are very good reasons why an amendment has taken place and in the spirit of YD a notice of such would be good, now shall we have a poll on that?

Nope, thought not.

Agreed

I was one of the 'butts' the post was referring to. I voted 'who cares' to the original question which was 'Should And and Bren get a room?'

Sorry, I just can't help the fact that I pretty much find a way to disagree with Bren whatever the topic. I do try to stay out of the non diving stuff as that doesn't interest me. People should remember it is only a bloody forum though! Just something to read in between dives. Some people are treating this far too seriously and posting far too much crap about anything and everything. I wish people would remember it is a forum about diving. At the moment the busiest forum seems to be non diving stuff and all these polls, new and resurrected, is boring IMO.

There is far too much political correctness in this world without inflicting it on a forum. I'd never seen posts edited until recently, and some of the edits have been pointless IMO, even to the point where a post has turned into a reply FFS! [Andy Edit] http://www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk/fo...363#post106363

I prefer free speech it has to be said. Once the editing starts, how long before our posts are edited for spelling and grammar? A PM can be sent to ask the author if a mod thinks they can improve the post in any way, surely, before the itchy fingers need to press the edit button.

My-my, [shakes head]

OK ALL, just so you all know, and so this frankly 'non-event' subject doesn't become a cause-celebre for those who might be better employed posting something about diving....

With the exceptions of the title (only) of Tom's post 'False Signatures' - which I edited to read 'False Flag' (albeit for only 10 minutes before Tom asked me to swap it back), which I changed to give it a more alliterative ring and 'eye-catching' title on what has been (for some) a 'niggle subject', and one by a member who was reviewing a dive holiday/dive cente/tour operator (where he was perhaps not as complimentary as he might have been - so I added the words "in my first-hand experience", so as to differentiate it form mere hearsay and opinion, and so as not to attract any adverse legal attention should that operator decide to read that post on YD (in effect reducing the risk to YD where this member had just simply spoken his mind - in an unabridged manner) - there has been no editing of posts, no censorship, no plots to kill the Pope, no cats run over, no setting of fires, no sex with animals....in short, no spilled milk here!

Now can we PLEASE stop this mince and crack on with business?!

Well somebody changed the poll AND the first post of this thread, and according to Bren it wasn't him. Anybody willing to own up?
I suppose the only thing I can think of arguing about is the implication that the original poll was something to do with a "glib" respresentation of the issues in the Hmm thread which it was decidely not.
Other than that all I can say is thanks for the messages of support but they are not really necessary, I am not looking for or willing to start one of the long winded debates about who said what to whom and "who are you looking at pal?" types of thread.
I'll wait and lurk to see what is happening and either post depending on whether I think it worthwhile.
I don't do argument online, its a waste of time and effort.

Doug, I believe that all those green blobs must be the forum-equivalent of good karma, and as such you've entered a state of Nirvana, no not the 90s grunge band but Buddist enlightenment, apparently when one achieves this heady state, the illusory nature of supposed reality becomes clear and the enlightened one can see that none of it really matters ie it's all bollocks!

Wow! Doug is the Messiah, and should know I've followed a few...
