Does anyone care what I think?

The polls are getting sillier and sillier, may as well join in
In saying that, original poll getting changed by admin aside, this one is about as relevant as the original. There are even polls about the polls FFS!

I am sick of polls altogether and was just taking the piss out of them although I do notice that someone in admin has no sense of humour when they are the butt of the joke
I find it quite interesting that my post and poll have been altered completely so that they are completely different to the original.
Its great news cos it means I can say anything I please and then deny it was me, must have been the moderators changing things!
Since I have been threatened before with legal action for forum posts a get out of jail free card is great. What can I say now!

To be honest, I think that's a real problem, and very poor moderation practice.

If something you said was deemed inappropriate, you should have been contacted by an admin. If the post was deleted, an explanation should have been posted by the admin.

It's not the first time people's posts have (recently) been altered without their knowledge or consent, without any apparent reason other than the whim of a moderator.

I think many people would agree this was overstepping the bounds of moderation: moderators are there, in large part, to protect the community of YD; actions like this just serve to alienate that community and will be detrimental to its health.

I personally hope we won't be seeing much more of it.


PS and yeah, too many fucking polls, too much crap about red and green blobs. Just IMHO, and considerably less serious than the point made above.

It was originally a gentle poke at a couple of folk for what seems to be a long running argument between them. Nothing for anybody to get worried too much about.

So you don't like, 'are sick of' polls, right? So don't post any or answer/read any? How simple is that? Problem solved. You've not been a member long and I don't think that the boards are gonna revolve/be designed around your whims and wants any time soon.

We're a rather broad church here and certain debates do get heated but are, for the most, well metered - ditto, if you don't like the posts, don't add to or read them. It couldn't be more simple.

And it could be worth remembering that this is a public forum and: "You can't please all the peole all od the time." Just one of life's truisms.

And as for a sense of humour - if you can't be bothered, as you claim, to read, understand and appreciate the 'Hmmm' thread fully and comment on what is a reasonably complex moral and philosophical set of critera, then don't go making glib and smart-arsed polls (which you hate, right?) about it. We are, after all, talking about the graves of servicemen being penetrated - NOT a matter to be treated lightly by anyone of either side. If you don't like somethere you read here - please ignore and move on.

It might help if you weren't so ambiguous and explained that no such threat has ever been made against you by any member of this forum or any of its Aministrators.

And go easy with any delusions of a 'Get out of Jail Card': anything you write or amend here has an audit trail.

'IF' posts are being amended by Admin, would it be possible to show where an amendment had been made, possibly why also, in a manner similar to the Bsac forum?
I'm sure there are very good reasons why an amendment has taken place and in the spirit of YD a notice of such would be good, now shall we have a poll on that?
