| Books I like the Sharpe series and I like my Napoleonic history books as well. I am currently reading two sides of the moon. All about the space race from the Russian and American perspective very good. |

| varied tastes currently - working through the Aubrey / Maturin series, and very exciting they are too! Favourites over the last few years: The Silent World by Jacques Cousteau Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig Lord of the Rings All of the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett (notably the city watch stories) Biographies of people in music (Woody Guthrie, Jim Morrison, Ian Curtis, Bob Dylan, The Tansads) Books set in the 80's Travelog type books - I do really like Bill Brysons books, although his best works were not travel books but ones about the English language (Mother Tongue and Made In America). I've recently started getting into the Sharpe series by Bernard Cornwell, I think I was put off by the TV series but the books are actually quite good. my favourite book of all time is called "The Ragged Trousered Philaphropists" by Robert Tressell. It's pitched as a socialist tract but it's also a jolly good story about working men (and there are some decorating hints in there too).

| I could read for England Its hard to choose a favourite but probably Robert Ludlam in the action/thriller class would come out on top although popular science (Richard Dwakins/Steven Hawkings etc) or non-fiction history would come a close second. Currently reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. |

| GUE Tech 01! Apart from that, Naval History, especially the Atlantic Convoys. My ex-wifes grandfather served on numerous escort ships and was sunk twice. Lucky, they called him! If you ever get a chance to read The Cruel Sea, please do. Ian

| Best book I've read in the last couple of years has been Life of Pi. Fantastic. Other than that, Douglas Coupland's Hey Nostrodamus was very good and Pratchett seems to be back on form. Reading Vernon God Little at the moment, but I'm not impressed with it. dan |
