Lose it completely, it is an utterly pointless system anyway, the school of thought that a lot of green = more worthy poster doesn't wash when you consider the number of non diving posts some people raise (and silly polls!)

If the system went then any comments, good or bad, would have to be posted.

Thumbs up

Keep it, but I agree with previous posts - red blobbing should be explained and not allow the sender to hide behind anonymity...

If they have an issue about something why not have the balls to identify themselves.....

I vote to keep it and have the blobber identified or get rid of the system completely.

Cheers

keep it ... but

keep it but if it's possible to randomly turn on and off the "identify whoever applied this rep" ... so neg reppers would run the risk of being ID'd but couldn't be sure?

Erm, I voted lose it, I think it was fun for a bit, but to be honest don't see the relevance in the future. While it is nice to get some green, the green is more a popularity contest than reputation on the subjects of the board.

If it was restricted to the diving areas of the board then I would support it, as it would give newbies such as myself an idea of who to listen to.

The fun bit would be if the identities get back dated and all those who thought they were blobbing anonymously get uncovered.

I think I have given red about 3 times, twice I signed it and once I misclicked and sent to soon.

I'd say loose it. In its current form, at any rate.

If any of you have ever read Slashdot, I have to say, I like their moderation style. Not only can you mod something up or down, you can mod it specifically. The options are:

Offtopic
Flamebait
Troll
Redundant
Insightful
Interesting
Funny
Overrated
Underrated

You can also choose not to see comments that have been modded as trolls or flamebait, etc.

That's a bit complex, but having more than just "Good" or "Bad" might make for a more wothwhile system. If somebody has a load of greens, that can (and often does) just mean that they post a lot of amusing things that are nothing to do with diving.

If you could look at someone's rep and see they have loads of green, but mostly because of funny posts, then you'd know they didn't win their rep by insightful comments about diving.

Similarly, if someone has a whole load of "Insightful" greens, then they clearly have a reputation for intelligent posts that are worth listening to.

In it's current form, the reputation system imparts no useful information, and annoys people who actually care when they get given negative rep. Improve it or dump it, say I!

Just what Dominic said. Couldn't think of a better way to put and and I tried for....ooh at least 2 minutes.

as previously pointed out will save mods some detective work as well.

After my initial reaction to it I'm going to do a U turn and say keep it, but like Juz (and a few others) I'd want the blobber identified pls. Have the balls to sign it if you think its worth saying.

Matt (well greened up - for some odd reason)
