What you realllllly want is an online booking system like skipper's. That's fidos wedding tackle, that is. The easier it is for me to see what's happening and book it, the more likely I am to do so.

Priorities if I could have the Taurus of my dreams:

Benches, at the right height, and with enough room for everyone. The box is ok, but it does mean you have to be organised about it, which we're really bad at!!!
More doughnuts.
A free car with every trip (ok, just for regular customers!)
Cover over the back (cheap and easy to do)
A lift.

With your ladder Andy the lift isn't an issue for anyone that's tried it. Problem will be if you've got competition that do have a lift, but then they've only got to try it once and they'll foget their whining. I have been on boats where the ladder is dangerous. And I mean that. A lift on these boats is totally necessary, but a decent ladder is nearly as good. I climb ladders with twins, stages, torches and all the rest, and it's not bad on a good ladder. The only time I could maybe use one over your ladder is when the house-sized waves are coming in, and getting back on can be a challenge. But that's not common for most of the season, and anyone booking for Feb should know better than to think it's going to be a sunny walk in the park. It is going to be more challenging. Live with it.

But the benches are priority number one if you ask me. Oh, and more pillows in the bunk on the right.

Sandwich maker, kitting up bench... and then I'll make the trip down to Taurus with me buddy NeilM!

Personally don't need a lift, but from a comercial point of view, it would certainly give you an edge

Question Bookings

I voted that the ladder is fine (maybe not perfect),and the benches thing has already been discussed.

A lift is in most cases a luxury, and have you taken in to account the loss of performance and more diesel? Speak to Steve,he reckoned he lost 1 knot of speed (big deal you may think) but his boat has twin 300hp,i have heard reports of a trip (fully loaded) to a certain cruiser at 8 knts max(in calm conditions) !! That may cut your range down even more. Think carefully. Some people who want the lift have only been diving (in the UK) for a couple of seasons(or so),they know little different,(i have said before we are becoming a nation of nambie pambies) !!

Spending a lot of money on a sidescan is just a waste, your bread and butter is the short runs 6-7 miles to known wrecks, that's where you will make the money,on the milkrun's (ask Skipper) they might be nice toy's but not what's needed for bookings.

You need to get the winch working (if it's not already) so you can get the shot back easier..............and notice i mention the word shot.........not that scabby anchor, buy some weights, again speak to Steve,i did mention it earlier this year. That's my recommendation.

I may be a bit pissed........................ah well what the hell!!

Alan
