right one of the lads i work with promised to get tickets for the dive show and a pass, as he 'is connected' .... now we know he is full of shit and i never expected the tickets to appear, aftewr talking about it all week he says he bought them to the office but had put them down somewhere *yawn*
anyway no tickets!!
so the dilemma is how to treat it on monday morning!!

I know someone similar who's crap with time keeping and keeping his word. He'll say he'll be somewhere at a certain time and then turn up late or he says he'll join us on a trip say for new year, but then make some excuse. We never accept or offer lifts and just say we'll see him at the pub, if he turns up so be it but then we don't hang around if he doesn't. When he says he'll join us on a trip we let him organise his own ticket as 99.9% of the time he backs out. I don't have time for him or people like him so just ignore this guy at work. If he says sorry, then tell him you didn't expect him to get the tickets anyway.

Out of interest, what did he say this "pass" would do?

i d personally go for number 4, i wouldn t say that its the easy option out, but it would show him that you are the better person....might sound daft i know. but whats done is done so kicking up about it probably wouldn t help, just next time i wouldn t listen to a word he has to say....must be a bit annoying mind you. hope that you get to go to the next dive show, guess this means that you ve saved a bit of money that you can spend on going diving.

If it's possible you should tell him that you found the tickets somewhere quite late late on Friday (Possbily Sat morning when you "dropped into" the office for something). As a result you had a great time at the dive show and met loads of folk from YD. Would be interesting to see him squirm as he realised the game was up but could not admit it.

Of course it would be even better if everyone else in the office was in on the scam.
