| Not sure about this one. It does give you a bottom dive only dictated by how much deco you're prepared to do, but how do they handle bailout? Situations such as the surface air failing, do the divers have a bailout? What happens if you lose your reg, as SCUBA divers we're trained to retrieve our own regs that are attached to our cylinders - a surface suplied reg could drift out of reach! Also you'll be limited how far you can go and where you can go such as wrecks etc. I'll keep my cylinder and set of regs thanks.

| Just had another thought (two in one day - woohoo). Do the people using snooba have to be qualified? I can see problems of people ascending too fast or holding thier breath when ascending due to lack of training. That and flying after snoobing. Hope they have good insurance, then again you probably have to sign a disclaimer before "snoobing"

| Seadart Bob uses one all the time exploring his wreck site. Check out his website for details. It's a nice idea - totally unencumbered under the water. Shallow, so if the batteries run out on the com, you just swim up. They're easy to make and I started down that line. There are commercial ones which go quite deep - google for hookahs(spelling?) |

| This was debated on an American forum a short time ago. The thread ran to almost 6,000 posts! Mind you, after the first few hundred most of them were probably about guns, politics and religion - that's the way most threads go on there! I personaly don't like the idea. But each to there own.

| How about a hybrid system, that you take down to exploration depth, then do the dive wearing no kit on a really looooooooooong hose! Would certainly make getting into little holes a lot easier!
