I've seen a few people discussing veggie meals on livaboards and am wondering if the diving community has a higher percentage of veggies than the 'normal' 6%

I do like a vegetarian diet (and not for animal welfare reasons) - have gone for periods of total veg dieting (longest was 4 months) but I just can't do it. NO BACON? NO HAGGIS? NO SAUSAGES? NO FRESH FISH? I'm sorry - not possible for me I'm afraid.

A carnivore of the hunting shooting fishing skinning gutting cooking and eating variety. If I am hungry the cute bunny gets it. I like my meet cooked so a good vet can resuscitate it if need be. Eating something I have caught shot or trapped is to me a special pleasure.

However this blood lust does not prevent me from fully supporting sustainable food stocks, minimal cruelty, and minimal environmental impact. I would enthusiastically join a march to protest against scallop dredging, shark fining, drift nets, antibiotics in chickens etc. etc. On the down side I would happily kill 1000 monkeys in medical research if I believed it would assist in a cure for Parkinson’s disease or Haemophilia.

Mind you having just been told my cholesterol is 7.2 I will be on boiled broccoli for the foreseeable future

...because I only wear sandals on holiday, I like my skin to have a healthy glow, my arms aren't long enough to hug trees, I don't want to ban the bomb but know a few people who I would like to see on the receiving end, would rather use roads than sit up trees all day protesting about building them....*
