Glad you pointed that out, Lou. NOBODY ever seems to get they're right.

Right OK! Who voted Tory? Please immediately hand in a full written resignation from YD. Your sorts are not welcome here.

I think the "right, who voted Tory?" is really a Scottish piece of humour. Harking from Thatcher  to today when Scottish Tory was a contradiction in terms.
Going from what is going on just now and in the recent past it may soon be "right, who is an official member of the Labour Party?" with no-one owning up!

I don't know but I'm betting it's the same people who don't know the difference between "your"  and "you're", a personal bete noire of mine

PS THe Tories When I were a lad that use to be a political party, then they seemed to transform into New Labour,

Whatever happened to the crazy idea of  British socialism ? Oh, yeah, we lost it when we became the unofficial 51st State, well y'know, like whatever...

Right! who thinks that the Americanisation of our "culture" (if we can call modern society that) is comparable to the Norman conquest? for a start, it's corrupted our language, usurped our monarch (poor King "George's poodle" Blair will never be the same), changes our eating habits... anything else

<font color='#000080'>Oh God! It's right - there isn't a thread that anyone can imagine that we can't turn round to any subject that we want!

I have had my rants for this week and I'm not going here! Lou, I suspect this one might be for you!

I think the general opinion is that I should get out more and after an enforced layoff from diving for the last two months I intend to, with a vengeance, starting next week

Socialism is still reasonably strong here and getting more so. I think it's a backlash to the lack of difference between Tory and Labour, Liberal(Wishy-Washy)Democrats and S.N(o policies except free Scotland).P. There really is no-one left to vote for.
It's the &quot;working&quot; class that seem to be slow catching on though which is odd really as that's who Sir Sheridan of Faslane is trying to get better deals for.
For many years now it's been the rich Westenders(G12 postcode) who only voted for them because it was  the &quot;fashionable&quot; thing to do(We are the people and all that. Aye right, so you fu**ing are)and, like I said, the working classes are just beginning to come round to it. The ironic thing is, if S.S.P. came into power then it would be these &quot;fashionable&quot; voters that would get it up the ar*e first.

The only problem voting Socialist is that you're always looking over your shoulder for Special Branch.

Peter

The westenders that are voting for the SSP are students, right up to they get a proper job and think that Tory suits them better. They think that socialism means free uni places for all. I do actually think there should be a completely free higher education system but for about half the numbers at Uni just now and based solely on merit to get a place. There are too many students nowadays and many are wasters!
I don't trust the SSP anymore than the major parties, I know too many of the activists to think they are anything but the looney fringe.

The club still has my e-mail address and nobody has asked, this doesn't surprise me really going by the stories that you have told me as I suspect several people would get really embarrassed by my challenging them. &nbsp;Alastair hasn't been asked either AFAIK.
